Cultural activities
It is worth to visit the Hermitage of Salgar which is a roman church that has a close link with the medieval history of Montsonís. From the Castle of Montsonís, formerly a secret corridor that left the warehouse of the Castle led to the hermitage of Salgar. Now, this corridor is closed; anyway, making a trip through small paths surrounded by fields and wild nature allows the visitor to arrive at the church and to admire its roman architecture.
While visiting the Castle of Montclar, the visitor can be immersed in medieval times. This Castle is located a few kilometres away from Montsonís and in the higher point of the village that has the same name. The castle of Montclar is the most ancient castle of the area; it is a forceful fortification with a flag waving on the top of the main tower indicating that the castle is inhabited.
And to complete our archaeological and historical knowledge, the visitor can go to the town of Artesa de Segre to visit the Museum on ethnology, archaeology and history of the area or admire the old houses of the town and, if it is Sunday, take a walk through the market situated in the porches of the main square.
